Private & Semi-private Workshops Resume July 10th

Dear students,

I hope you are well, healthy and surviving this difficult time. This too will come to an end as we work together to follow proper procedures. The time has come to take the baby steps of reopening with restrictions. Please read through the below, long as it is.

Please note that NO refunds will be given at this point related to the studio shut down due to COVID-19. Artscape Wychwood Barns has been in lock down since March 24th as per provincial regulations on gatherings and essential workplaces which has made running workshops impossible.

But there is good news!

The lockdown is lifted on July 6th and Playing With Fire is running private/semi private workshops for everyone who booked and was rescheduled.

To everyone whose workshop was rescheduled after the lockdown:

Starting July 10th, you are encouraged to reserve a spot with the code number that will be emailed to you. Regardless of the kind of workshop you booked, you will be brought in as an individual or a small group. This means that individuals who booked alone will receive a private workshop, date nights are semi-private as before, and all people in the same bubble who live together can book a workshop for up to five people.

These special workshops will run between July 10th and August 7th. The studio will again be closed for regular maintenance between August 7th and September 4th. If you decide to use your personal, one time only code number at a later date, it will be valid indefinitely, but will not be subject to this special offered during summer 2020. A schedule will be posted on the website by Thursday this coming week and it will have dates including weekday slots. Please note that this schedule will also be visible to the general public, so book early!

The studio has implemented a host of other measures to ensure everyone's safety:

– You may cancel up to three hours before your workshop and reschedule without any consequence if you are not feeling well. -You will undergo health screening before entering the studio.

– Waivers will be emailed to you and must be signed before the workshop to make the process contactless. -You will be given a visor and a disposable mask to wear at the studio, you may bring your own face mask if you wish.

– Hand sanitizer is available in every corner of the studio.

– Instead of sanitizing a plastic part for blowing, we are using disposable paper straws.

A follow up email with your personal code will be sent within a week. Please email minna@playingwithfire.ca with any questions or concerns.

Enjoy the hot weather and remember: we are one of the only air-conditioned glass studios in Ontario 🙂
